Our Mission

The Maryland Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians (MDACEP) exists to support quality emergency medical care and promote the needs and interests of emergency physicians by:
  • Enlightening public awareness of emergency issues
  • Acting as advocates before the legislative branches of local, state and national government
  • Developing continuing medical education programs for the emergency medicine provider community

Advocacy

Maryland ACEP is your state advocate for emergency medicine, and has been since 1976. We have over 700 physician members. Maryland ACEP works for the highest principles of our specialty to the benefit of our physicians and patients together. As a democratic organization with an elected board, we are an unifying force for emergency medicine facing practice challenges in all their wide variety in a setting of rapid change. Maryland ACEP is a respected, expert and united voice of reason. We are your voice in Annapolis and at National ACEP.The Maryland ACEP Board of Directors and Committee Members are a very diverse group of practicing emergency physicians. They include academicians, private practice physicians, large group, small group, individual physicians, board certified, non-board certified, rural, urban, residents, democrats, republicans, independents, young fresh members, and older mature members. Our Board represents all practice settings and the full range of emergency medicine experience. This diversity and unity gives us strength to pursue our common goals. Maryland ACEP is you.
